Holograms

What is a hologram in simple words? It is created by the interference of two beams of the same wavelength. One beam goes directly to a photographic film, and another goes to eliminate the object. The meeting of those two beams creates the basis of the hologram in the film process. When a film is developed and illuminated by the laser, a light image of the object appears.

Alexander’s creative process was mostly with transmission holograms, allowing the creator to take incredible liberties with images in space. His holograms went from recording Four-Dimensional sculptures to figurative works to works on a very large scale for holography and stretched the technical capacities of the medium to their limit.
